Welcome to Lanturn. By using this site and app, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lanturn (16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, where local law requires it). Lanturn is a general-audience service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Use of the Service

Lanturn is provided “as is” for personal productivity and experimentation during a private beta.

Accounts

You are responsible for actions taken under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

Content

You retain ownership of your content. You grant Lanturn permission to process and store it to provide and improve the service. If you delete your account, all identifiable content is permanently removed.

Sprint rooms

Lanturn runs sprint rooms inside four-week sprints. You can apply for a spot and join a room for the duration of the sprint. The rooms are visible only to the people who hold a spot in that sprint. You accept these terms before you can post, and we will ask again if they change materially.

What the rooms are intended for: sharing your own progress, ideas and experiences, reading what other people share, and responding to it. Please follow the community guidelines on how to participate.

What does not belong here

The rooms are a supportive environment for those who work on hard things. That supportive and collaborative environment only works when everyone feels respected and safe to express themselves. We trust you to treat other members the way you would want to be treated. A few things do not belong in the rooms, and we remove them with no exceptions:

• Abuse, harassment or bullying of another member.
• Hate speech, or attacks on someone for who they are.
• Threats of violence, or graphic violence.
• Sexual content or nudity.
• Anything that sexualises, exploits, or endangers a child. Child sexual abuse and exploitation material is reported to the authorities and ends the account immediately.
• Instructions or encouragement to self-harm.
• Spam, scams, impersonation, or sharing someone's private information.
• Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights.

Expressing that you are struggling, or a strong opinion about your work and your journey, is not objectionable and is not removed. The rooms exist for people working on something difficult and creative, and we welcome strong opinions as long as they keep the room respectful and safe.

Your account may be removed from the sprint rooms if you consistently post outside these guidelines.

Automated screening

Posts and photos are checked automatically by an AI model (OpenAI) before other members of your sprint can see them. A post flagged by the check is removed from the room: it stays visible to you, marked, and nobody else sees it. A photo flagged by the check is not uploaded at all. The check is automatic and can be wrong, so if you think it has made a mistake, reply to the email we send you or write to us at the address below and a person will look at it.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any post, or block its author, from the menu on the post. Reporting a post sends it to us for review. Blocking someone hides their posts and replies from you from then on. We review reports promptly, and will take action to remove the post or follow up.

Your posts

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting in a room you give Lanturn permission to show that post, including any photos on it, to the other people in your sprint, and to store it so the room can be read later. You can remove your own posts at any time. Deleting your account removes your posts with it.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all identifiable data at any time from within the app. Once deleted, your conversations, goals, and moves are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained.

AI-Generated Content

Lanturn is an AI-powered conversational tool that helps you explore goals, surface what's getting in your way, and structure next steps. It is not coaching, therapy, counseling, or medical advice. Lanturn is not a licensed therapist, coach, or healthcare provider. You are the decision-maker — Lanturn is here to help you think.

Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate or incomplete. You should not rely solely on Lanturn's responses when making significant life, financial, or health decisions.

Lanturn and its creators are not liable for any actions taken based on content generated by the service.

Memberships, purchases, billing and cancellation

Lanturn sells two kinds of thing. The Thinking Partner is a paid membership, sold as an auto-renewing subscription. A spot in a sprint is a one-time purchase for that sprint only. Both are billed by our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown before you buy, in US dollars and exclusive of any applicable taxes, and any introductory price is shown together with the price it reverts to and how long the introductory period lasts.

Automatic renewal. A membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the standard price for your plan, and continues until you cancel. We charge the payment method you provide at each renewal.

How to cancel a membership. You can cancel at any time from the Memberships page inside Lanturn. No email, phone call, or request to support is required.

What cancelling does. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not end your membership immediately: you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your membership then expires rather than renewing. We do not pro-rate or refund the unused part of a period that is already paid for.

If a renewal payment fails. If we cannot take a renewal payment, your membership ends at the end of the period you have already paid for, and your account returns to the free tier. We do not currently offer a grace period or retry window, and we do not suspend and later restore a membership. You can start a new membership at any time.

Sprint spots. A spot is a single purchase for one sprint. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel: your spot lasts from the start of the sprint to its end, and the rooms stay readable to you after that. To join another sprint, you buy another spot. A sprint's price is fixed when you buy it.

Refunds. You can request a refund on any payment, a membership charge or a sprint spot, by emailing us at hello@lanturn.ai. We read every request and aim to reply within a few working days. We will always refund a charge that was our mistake, such as a payment taken in error or taken after you cancelled. Other requests we consider case by case. Cancelling a membership on its own does not refund the current period; your access continues to the end of it instead.

Price and plan changes. We reserve the right to change our prices and what a membership or a sprint includes at any time. Normally a change applies to new purchases only. If we change the price of a membership you already hold, we will tell you before the new price takes effect, so you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.

Limitations

Service availability and features may change. We may suspend access for abuse or security concerns.
